Ms. Chandni Wadhwani, Education USA Adviser at USIEF, interacted with the students of Class XI & XII through a detailed power point presentation explaining all the details and information about the tests that students have to go through for taking admission in the colleges of USA.

Good Habits for Life

Good habits are not only seeds present but are the fruits of future.

With this notion, the students of class Nursery of DPS Ranchi on 24th September 2018, woke up to present a wonderful activity on Good Habits. They gathered up to share the importance of good habits in our lives. The tiny tots came forward to recite a poem on good habits - ‘This is the way we brush our teeth’. Watching those bundles of joy performing playfully was mesmerizing.

DPS Ranchi Wins State Level Inter School Play Competition

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Jharkhand in collaboration with DPS Ranchi organized "State- Level Inter- School PLAY Competition" to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Vivekananda Auditorium, DPS Ranchi on 13th September, 2018. The chief guest of this function was Mr. Suresh Kumar Chaurasiya (Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy).

DPS Ranchi once again proved its mettle by bagging the first position for their play "Kuch Shraddha Suman Bapu Ke Liye".

HDFC ERGO Insurance Awareness Award at DPS Ranchi

" A competition makes one strive to do better. It trains to seek out challenges and to endure setbacks"

An Inter-School Quiz Competition was hosted by DPS Ranchi on 5.09.2018 in its premises.

The quiz was organised by HDFC ERGO in association with NDTV.  HDFC ERGO took a step forward and reached out to the young mind, the future of India, to build awareness about general insurance in the form of HDFC ERGO Insurance Awareness Award  that would make it fun and easy for the school students to understand about General Insurance.

This event was inaugurated by Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi. He expressed his thanks and gratitude to HDFC ERGO for taking initiative to encourage, appreciate and nurture our young talents in the form of Inter-school Quiz Competition.

At the mega event as many as 52 students of Class VIII and IX from 26 schools of the city participated in the competition. The school represented as a team of two students. This event was the Semi-final round that was conducted in Ranchi and after this the winning team will be participating in the Finale on 27th September 2018 in Mumbai. The competition was divided in two rounds i.e. MCQ (as elimination round)  and a Quiz competition round.

Mostly questions were asked from the General Insurance policies, companies and nature of insurance along with general awareness questions.
At the competition Kairali School was the shows stealer and won the Quiz competition. The students from the winning school were Akif Arhab and Shorjesh Mukherjee. Both students got Bluetooth speakers and a framed certificate.

The students enjoyed the quiz competition a lot as they were able to enhance their knowledge through the questions asked. The quiz was conducted by the quiz master Meghashyam Shirodkar.

Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi said that once we introduce competitions among the students, most of the studies show that they start to do better while competing with each other. He added that a healthy competition boosts one’s talent, skills and inculcate the qualities of sportsman spirit, team work and cooperation.

He appreciated HDFC ERGO for conducting such competition to promote and propagate national awareness outlook towards insurance policy among the students.

Art Exhibition By Art Teachers and Students

DPS Ranchi organized a grand Art Exhibition on 1st September 2018 at Vivekananda Auditorium. It received an overwhelming response both by the students as well as their guardians. Portraits in metallic colours, repetitive motive work with the help of mass, wool work on paper, paintings depicting nature caught the attention of the visitors.

DPS Ranchi poured out its creativity and talent at the art exhibition. Art teachers and students of DPS Ranchi participated in the art exhibition that brought out the latent skills and artistic works.

Krishna Janamashtmi Celebration at DPS Ranchi

"God is the key to every problem, a light for every shadow; 
A relief for every sorrow and a plan for every tomorrow"

A pious morning of 31st August 2018 at DPS Ranchi arrived to be welcomed by the students of class - Nursery. The day was the moment to celebration one of the most awaited and religious celebrations, ‘Krishna Janamashtmi’, birth of Lord Krishna with utmost excitement and happiness. The little Krishnas and Radhas dressed in the most beautiful and colourful attire looked like the scattered pieces of God’s heart on earth. They commenced the activity with speech and a short skit on ‘Krishna Lila Nag daman’ was also presented. Further this short programme involved a number of performances by the little feet like graceful dance on ‘Yashomati Maiya se’ an anecdote of the birth of the Lord was narrated by the tiny tots and a dance performed  on the song  ‘Wo Krishna hai’ . To let their thoughts colour everyone’s mind, a speech on the importance of the day, ‘Janamasthami’, was the next surprise for the audience. The wonderful programme comes to its end with a performance on - ‘Bada Natkath Hai Krishn Kanhaiya’.

The Principal, Dr. Ram Singh with the twinkle of happiness in his eye, took the moment to appreciate the efforts of youngest scholars of the school. He encouraged them to be unbiased in their life, as Lord Krishna was reminded that the day is not mere a celebration but is a reminisce that -  “In the war of good and evil, the truth always wins”.
