Krishna Janamashtmi Celebration at DPS Ranchi

A pious morning of 31st August 2018 at DPS Ranchi arrived to be welcomed by the students of class - Nursery. The day was the moment to celebration one of the most awaited and religious celebrations, ‘Krishna Janamashtmi’, birth of Lord Krishna with utmost excitement and happiness. The little Krishnas and Radhas dressed in the most beautiful and colourful attire looked like the scattered pieces of God’s heart on earth. They commenced the activity with speech and a short skit on ‘Krishna Lila Nag daman’ was also presented. Further this short programme involved a number of performances by the little feet like graceful dance on ‘Yashomati Maiya se’ an anecdote of the birth of the Lord was narrated by the tiny tots and a dance performed on the song ‘Wo Krishna hai’ . To let their thoughts colour everyone’s mind, a speech on the importance of the day, ‘Janamasthami’, was the next surprise for the audience. The wonderful programme comes to its end with a performance on - ‘Bada Natkath Hai Krishn Kanhaiya’.
The Principal, Dr. Ram Singh with the twinkle of happiness in his eye, took the moment to appreciate the efforts of youngest scholars of the school. He encouraged them to be unbiased in their life, as Lord Krishna was reminded that the day is not mere a celebration but is a reminisce that - “In the war of good and evil, the truth always wins”.
Global University Fair 2018 at DPS Ranchi
DPS Ranchi hosted Global University Fair 2018 in its school premises on 30th August 2018.
This event was organised in collaboration with ICAE ( International Centre for Advancement of Education ) in order to promote global awareness. This fair was inaugurated by Mr. Sanjay Prasad , Law Secretary , Government of Jharkhand. Twelve reputed national and international universities registered their presence and came together to educate the students about prospects and career options in abroad.
A Visit to Virtual Zoo at DPS Ranchi
Treating all animals with dignity, respect and care is an essential part of a spiritual lifestyle.
Teaching children how to treat animals righteously is the best way to teach them love and compassion. The youngest scholars of Nursery of DPS Ranchi explored the animals on 29.08.2018 . The programme commenced with the introduction of animals of Zoo. Further, they learned about movement of animals like – thumping of an elephant and hunting of a tiger etc in a play-way method.
Beautifully equipped with colourful props like snakes, monkeys, bear, elephants etc added more to their excitement. They promoted the message of love for animals through a poem. the programme turned out to be a virtual zoo alive in the room. The little naughty minds took the show to its closure with sincere vote of thanks.
The principal, Dr. Ram Singh, took the moment to discuss about right of animals and how we are responsible for what is happening with them in this man-made nature. He reminded that we should not forget that “We judge a man’s true character by the way treats the animals around”.
Annual Function cum Felicitation Ceremony at DPS Ranchi
Delhi Public School, Ranchi organized its Annual Function cum Felicitation Ceremony ‘EXUBERANZA’ on 25.08.2018 at Vivekanand Auditorium. Filled with energy and enthusiasm in their radiant attire with the dazzling stage, the poised performers thrilled the audience.
The function was graced by her Excellency Smt. Draupadi Murmu (Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand) as the Chief Guest and Sri. Harivansh (Dy. Chairman, Rajya Sabha) as the Special Guest for the evening.
The Programme commenced with the rendition of the Welcome Song followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. The students mesmerized our minds and souls of the audience with their melodious performance ‘SYMPHONY’- a medley of different peppy numbers.
Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi welcomed the guests and asserted that the role of educational institutions has become increasingly challenging and our school bellied upon itself the onerous tasks of encouraging and empowering the students to excel at academics and at pursuits outside the classroom with the changing social and educational scenario to make them self motivated and confident leaders of tomorrow. He also emphasized that school believes in fostering ethics and cultural values which is an integral part of holistic development.
The plethora of cultural programme commenced with ‘Pushp Rangam’ and amalgamation of Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudi dance invoking the blessings of gods and goddesses of Natya Shastra and paying obeisance to Lord Ganesha.
The meritorious students were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance with blue blazers and blue ties who secured 91 percent and above for the 3 to 6 consecutive years.
The Chief Guest congratulated the students for their meticulous performance and motivated them with her words of wisdom and blessings. She asked them to stroll on the path of sincerity and perseverance.
She further intoned her voice to stress on the most concern affairs of the national interest, illiteracy and child trafficking and also acknowledged that DPS Ranchi has been successfully playing its ardent role to eradicate the same. She also congratulated the school for excellent performance in various exams at national and international levels. She also took the moment to sensitize the importance of women empowerment in building up the nation. At last she appreciated principal sir for his great initiative of providing free education to the BPL children and taking DPS Ranchi to such a higher extent to create the best citizens of the country.
The esteemed Chief Guest proudly launched the school magazine of the Primary Wing – ‘DIPS TIME’ for the session 2017- 18.
The spot light of the evening was ‘ANTARAGINI’- a call for the nation, a call by the nation. The show threw light on the sad fact of present era, where the young generation focuses on achieving the best career even at the cost of the national growth and wellness of their own parents. Overpowered by the want of wealth, somewhere they have forgotten that this is the motherland who nurtured and gave its best to make the best out of them. It is high time to come back home, it is the time to pay devoir to the nation. Let’s ‘Make in India’ , ‘Start up India’ and ‘Stand up India’ and build India into a super power global force.
The special guest for the evening asserted that academic excellence along with the co-curricular activities, completes the education process and DPS Ranchi has always been a beacon of light guiding the destiny of its young students while scaling newer heights in its pursuits of imparting knowledge. He also mentioned that we as responsible citizens of the society need to be iconic role models for the young generation to follow our footsteps, growing up with principles that we practice.
The next programme was an eye opener for the amused audience, it was a sublime presentation by the students of ‘Deeptabh’– a noble endeavor initiated by DPS with a vision of better tomorrow with equal opportunities for the under privileged children. The school gives free education to these young leaders to hold the light of knowledge in their hand.
The Cultural Bonanza concluded with a Grand Finale on followed by the vote of thanks by the Head Boy of the Primary Wing.
International Water Color Workshop held at DPS Ranchi
The Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs under the guidance of Government of Jharkhand organized an International Water Color workshop in the premises of DPS Ranchi on 25th August 2018.
The main aim of this workshop was to educate the students about the importance of water color.
In this workshop, various international water color artists from different countries were present to teach and impart important knowledge about water color to students. The artists who were present in the workshop were :
- Anna Massinissa from Italy.
- Sergiy from Italy
- Pawel from Poland.
- Buiplob Goswami from Bangladesh
- Rajat and Deepak from India
- Fauziya from Ukraine.
In this workshop, students of standard VI to XII participated. The students were taught about how better water colors can be used to beautify their masterpieces. The workshop also aimed to highlight and uplift the culture of Jharkhand through water color and how beautiful this state is from the viewpoint of natural aspects and water color can play a major role to give even a brighter look to it.
In this occasion, an art Exhibition was held by art teachers and students. The invited artists visited the graphics lab, painting lab, art room and the craft room of the school.
The teachers of the school who participated in this workshop were : Mr Vinod Kumar Ranjan, Mr Himadri Ramani, Miss Arpita Baksi, Mr Debraj Sengupta, Mr Paresh Modak and Mr Samrat Chatterjee.
Participating students were : Latika, Ashma Midhi, Sarthak Wadhwa, A.S Jigyansha Acharya, Rishabh Raj, Vedengi, Harsh Vardhan, Nitya Shree, Priyal Saraik, Shweta, Soham Mandal, Gunjit Glen Romauld, Shrish Jaurihar, Gurpreet, Riya, Jai Midha, Smriti, Medha Singh, Ankit Kumar and Prasansha.
The school Principal Dr. Ram Singh, said that it is matter of pride and absolute delight from DPS Ranchi that the growth and perspective of art is exhibiting its creativity and talent of the school’s art faculty and fine art apprence at its best. He expressed his happiness that this will be the first time in the history of Delhi Public School Ranchi, that a grand art exhibition has been organized.
Celebrations of Life at DPS Ranchi
We not only celebrate festivals, we celebrate life !
The students of class II of DPS Ranchi on 23.08.2018, engaged themselves to celebrate the one of the sources of cultural instinct of human race "Festivals". They presented different forms of Indian festivals one after the other including Religious, National and Harvest festivals. The colourful activity showcased each and every festival like – Religious Festivals – Holi, Eid, Guruparv, Christmas etc., National festivals – Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti, Harvest Festivals – Makar Sankranti, Onam, Baishakhi etc. the moment was to cherish the memories and motives of different religion. It is the celebration of festivals which gives every time a chance to take a break from the ever busy schedule of ours. The happiness of festivals rejoices most in the eye and hands of young children. The activity further moved with showcasing festivals of different castes and tribes like- Karma, Sarhool etc. and since Music is the strongest form of human emotions, the young hearts spoke through a beautifully recited poem related to the same. The programme concluded its message coming to the closure, explaining the importance of each and every festival in detail. It gave a wonderful message of unity, happiness and equality.
The principal, Dr. Ram Singh caught the moment to talk about the essence of our country, our ‘Unity in diversity’. It explained how different festivals come to remind that "We all belong to one country, one race and one goal i.e. humanity, now and always…
Human Library session on 20th August 2018
It is the positive approach that leads to success in life
DPS Ranchi conducted a Human Library session on 20th August 2018 at its premises for the students of class XI and XII. This time the guest speaker was Lt Commander Vikrant Malhan. Shri Malhan is a Logistic Corporation Officer from Indian Navy and has been instrumental in conducting two prestigious President’s Fleet in 2006 and 2012 with our honourable President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Smt Pratibha Patil. Shri Vikrant Malhan is the Member Secretary of Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society and preparing young children of Jharkhand for Olympics.
Shri Malhan started the session sharing his experiences of armed forces. He gave clear picture about our forces. He sais that job in army is a lifestyle which demands a person to be awake, alert and have sense of responsibility. He specified that humanity is something that is beyond everything and thus he urged the students to work for a cause and contribute to protect the integrity of the motherland..
Shri Malhan shared one of his toughest experience which he had on the eve of 26/11 inside Hotel Taj in Mumbai which enriched him with lot of maturity. He urged the girls as well to consider the armed forces as a career. It turned out to be very informative for the students to get a closer glimpse of the armed forces.
The later half of the session was full of student questions regarding bilateral excesses of armies and forces.
Shri Malhan said that getting worried is never a solution. We have to find out the solution of problems.
The school Principal Dr. Ram Singh expressed his thanks to Shri Malhan for motivating students with his positive attitude and said that students can really do well in their lives if all the advices are properly followed.
Exploring the world of Money at DPS Ranchi
Money skills for life.
“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics”
Yes, practicing is the only requirement to make mathematics easy. Everything from counting pages to calculating money is mathematics. So, on dated 18.08.2018 class II of DPS Ranchi, held on activity to learn more about money in the most playful manner. They performed a small skit where they displayed different symbols associated with the concept of money like (.), (RS), (`) etc, through poems. They enhanced their calculating skills which would further help them in future. The performers also discussed about currencies of various countries, like Japanese-Yen, U.S. – Dollar, Europian – Euro, Sri Lankan – Rupiya etc. Little wonders have always shown curiosity about the valuable colourful notes and tinkling coins, but they hardly know how to use them effectively. So, taking the activity ahead, they picked up a very lovingly used term, “Pocket Money” . They learnt different ways to their small treasure in the pockets. Everyone in the audience was amused to see these young fellows dealing with the new concept so effortlessly. It was no late when all witnessed one more bombshell of the small programme, the R.B.I. Yes, they discussed about R.B.I. and learnt about the present governor of the same, Sri Urjit Patel. They moved further by talking briefly about the working of the biggest bank of India, R.B.I. (Reserve Bank of India). They did not even fail to share their thoughts and views about the term "Charity". And thus, an informative activity came to an end.
The Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, delighted by the program took the opportunity to talk about the subject and encouraged the tots to have more programs like this. He also said that activity like this helps students to cope up the fear of numbers. He was moved to see young hearts talking so thoughtfully about how their parents are working day and night to earn how they should serve humanity with this as – "It is in giving that we receive"
Inauguration of Lift at DPS Ranchi
In a major infrastructural development , DPS Ranchi inaugurated lift at its premises on 16th August 2018.
Shri S.K. Das (General Manager , Incharge RDCIS) and Shri K.J Chauhan(DGM and Incharge, F&A, RDCIS) who were present to inaugurate were happy on this development done by the school and opioned that it is an asset for the school.
- The lift will have the capacity of 408 kg /6 persons.
- The lift is equipped CSB belt drive and inbuilt Auto rescue device, inbuilt regeneration drive, door sencor.
- The lift is also equipped with an inbuilt telephone system, microprocessor based controller with with regen drive.
- There will be a person to take care of the operation during the school operation time.
The school Principal Dr. Ram Singh, said that the school has started this facility to give relief to physically disabled persons and other. He further added that DPS Ranchi is always actively to improve its infrastructural features for the benefit of its students and employees.
Intramural Table Tennis Tournament (Boys and Girls) ended at DPS Ranchi
A Four day Intramural Table Tennis tournament (Boys and Girls) played by the students of Classes IX - XII at Delhi Public School Ranchi ended today in DPS Ranchi.
Girls Final Match
The final match was played between Jamuna House and Jhelum House and Jhelum House won the match by 2/0
Boys Final :
The Final Match was played between Ravi House and Jamuna House and in this Jamuna House came out as a winner by 2/0.
During the match both the houses gave each other a cut throat competition.
Speaking on the tournament, the Principal of the school Dr. Ram Singh said that he was amazed to see the sportsmanship and the team spirit of the student and he also congratulated the winning team.
