Zila School Students interact with Dr. Sonal Mannsingh at DPS Ranchi

It was a wonderful opportunity for the students of Zila School, Ranchi to be a part of an interaction with renowned artist in Indian Classical Dances, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mannsingh at Delhi Public School, Ranchi. She graced the students and faculty with her incredible presence. She talked about Indian values and ideals and said that Indian culture is incomparable. She mentioned the importance of dance in Character building and personality development.


She was welcomed by the Principal of DPS Ranchi Dr. Ram Singh who quoted the day as historic with her remarkable presence.

Students of Zila School, Ranchi got an opportunity to ask some questions from Dr. Mannsingh.

Aman Kumar asked about her feeling on coming to Ranchi. At this, she said she was feeling very nice ans she loves the greenery here.

Ritik Kumar wanted to know about the turning point of her life. Dr. Mannsingh mentioned her Car accident back in 1974 in Germany, where she got a severe spine injury and was told she would never be able to dance again. After 21 days, a doctor from Montreal told her she would be able to dance again and that was the turning point of her life.

Delhi Public School observes Road Safety Week

Alert Today Alive Tomorrow


As part of road safety week, an awareness program was conducted at Delhi Public School where students were briefed about road safety rules which would make them aware of road safely and at the same time spread their awareness to others in the society. Traffic Police department of Ranchi conducted the program.


Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS, Ranchi welcomed the guests warmly by praising their initiative. While addressing the students, he expected that students would take road safety as priority and follow them strictly. Parents concern, he said in this regard is most sought. They should not allow their children to violate traffic rules by providing them motorbikes before age. If the children are alert today, they would have a bright tomorrow.

Mr. Sanjay Ranjan Singh SP, Traffic, Ranchi who graced the occasion as a chief guest urged the students to take care  of their life as its is so precious. He said while on the road, they should follow all traffic rules and remain alert or else they would bring tears to the eyes of their parents. They should brings cheers, not tears. Stunts on bike give them romance and adventure but it takes away a budding life sometimes.

He made the students to take the new year resolution to think before driving without helmet and license because careless driving and breaking traffic rules leads to innumerable deaths. He informed that now-a-days more deaths are caused due to road accidents than border wars. He also made the students to take an oath that they will always follow the safety rules whether they are on or off road.


Mr. Radha Prem Kishore, DSP traffic -II were also present as special guests on the occasion.

Mr. Radha Prem Kishore asked questions about general safety rules and distributed gifts to the students who answered them correctly.

Alumni Meet at DPS Ranchi 2016

Delhi Public School, Ranchi held its first official Alumni Meet on December 24, 2016 in the school’s prestigious Vivekanda Auditorium students from several batches 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2001 etc attended this joyous occasion. Principal Dr. Ram Singh inaugurated the Delhi Public School Alumni Aspiration formally named DARCH – Dipsites Alumni Ranchi Chapter. Several teachers and staff also attended and participated the programme. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp ceremony and wonderful   Kathak Dance performance by current students as well. Alumni from all batched shared their stories and memories of DPS, Ranchi. Alumni from all over the world spoke about their favorite teachers and thanked the school for giving them their first illustrious plat form. Alumni form 95’ batch pledges their take it forward to an outstanding Alumni platform. 

Many of the Alumni came on stages and shared their experience.

Sourabh Banerjee of 1995 batch who is presently in IBM Bangalore said “It is a pleasure that the school has brought us together. Takinng leave from job and coming to Ranchi and meeting friends after 21 years is indeed fruitfull.”

Mr. Alok Poddar 1998 batch who is at present Chief Financial Manager in Prabhat Khabar expressed his delight in being called as the Chief gust for commerce festival held in Ranchi. He also said that DPS has giving him life friends and career. 

Next was Mrs Vinnatti Anuragini from 1996 batch. She appreciated the teachers’ effort  of pushing the students to face the audience and making them extrovert. She also said that it was only DPS Ranchi which brought 860 students on the stages for the annual function Giggles and motivated the tiny tots to face the stage at a very early age. She said that none of the experiences of school is a bad one except for the Monday Test. She also said sorry for all the mischiefs which and her batch mates had done and said it could be passed as BACHPANA. She thank the principal to giving an alumni corner in school.

The next alumni was Mr. Mickey Midha of 2004 batch who is presently in ranchi and said “ since Dr. Ram Singh has taken up as the principal of DPS Ranchi, the gap which DPS has with other school of state has been increasing day by day. The school has carved a niche in the society which has been achieved due to the vision, mission and hard work of the principal and the teachers.

Mr. Biyani of 1997 batch said that this alumni meet was long overdue. He said he has attended his college and university meets but this meet holds special significance as this is the place where he had spent 12-13 precious year of life and memory is came flooding in once he steped inside the premise.

Dr. Nishant 1997 batch said that the school has shaped his career and he is indeed proud to be a DIPSITE.

Amit Sinha of 1994 batch who is currently posted in RBI, Ranchi branch said that the gap which DPS has created between itself and other school is indeed huge. One has to be special for which there is a demand in the society and DPS Ranchi has got its place registered. He said “ live as if you are going to die tomorrow and learn as if you are going to live forever.

Abhijeet Mukherjee of 1993 batch appreciated the well built auditorium and the much changed school infrastructure. He said that they in their batch would plan and do something for DARCH as an organization. 

Riya Chakarborty of 2001 batch appreciated the magnificent and amazing progress that DPS has made in recent years and said that I am proud to see DPS as a grand venture.

Mr. Neeraj and the Principal Dr. Ram singh for inviting them on this alumni meet he thanked each and every staff members of this school for contributing its growth. He was of the opinion that one of them should definitely join as the teacher in DPS Ranchi.

Abigyan Banerjee has specially come from U.S. to attend this alumni meet.

Last but not least Mr. Ekagra of 1998 batch made the gathering lively by sharing some of their notorious experiences of school days.

There was also Saurav from 2012 batch presently in Maruti Suzuki Gurgaon who presented a RAP song ………………do it again and again and again…………….. better know we gotta have it.

Karan Singh presented his own composed song “Party Tera Bhai Dega” which one millions of views on youtube. He is a proud DIPSITE who has recently shot his song in Michael Jackson studio in Hollywood.

Lastly Mrs. Arya one of the oldest hindi teacher came on stage and said “you have reached such heights which we  teachers once dreamt of.” She also said

"आपको देखा तो ख्याल आया की आप हैं मेरे बीते दिनों का साया। यादों के झरोंकों से देखा तो हर पल याद आया।"

At last all the members were given T-shirt bearing the LOGO of DARCH. The principal also announced that there will be whatsapp and facebook group for the alumni.

DPS Ranchi celebrates CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR

It was a joyful morning for the students of DPS, Ranchi as they welcomed the day with a touch of festivity. The students of Senior and Junior wing  gave various performances and made all dance to the beats of Christmas Carol. Some added out pays while some made others enchanted with their melodious voices.


Some students also came dressed as Santa and distributed gifts and happiness to all. Teachers and students came up on the stage to share their experiences of this year.


“May this new year be a Santa for you and give you all the happiness and success that you wish for”, said Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS, Ranchi .


Some prizes were also distributed, Adrija Sarkar of Class VII was awarded with the certificate and medal for 7th state level painting competition organised by Energy Conservation Dept.


The celebrations for this year concluded on a good note with a hope and determination to start the New Year with new hopes, new dreams and a new will to achieve all we aspire!

Vanijya Mahotsav Celebrated at DPS Ranchi

Can we give Commerce an equal hand?

Well “Yes” – Delhi Public School, Ranchi has the answer for the first time in the state of Jharkhand.

VANIJIYA MAHOTSAV was held on 21.12.2016 in DPS, Ranchi.

Various events related to the world of business, finance and economics. These days the value of studying commerce has shot up and the students got platform to express their talents. Schools from the city took part in this festival like Sr. DAV public school (Pundag), DAV public school (Dhurwa), Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Kairali School, Guru Nanak Higher Sec. School, Oxbridge School, Surendranath Centenary school, and Delhi Public School.


Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi strongly feels that in Eastern India Science has always dominated so even if we don’t ADMIT We all ACQUIT of the fact that the science stream is given an upper hand. Hence this festival has been organised to create awareness among the people that today the field of commerce too has looks to offer to the children who can carve a lucrative carrier by taking up commerce.

The following events were organized at this Festival:-

Event – 1 “Harbingers of Chance” was a street play competition with the topic being “Corporate Social Responsibility, Eradication of Black Money, Impact on the Economy”. The students channelised their flourishing creativity into excellent performance of Nukkad Nataks. The below mentioned schools were declared winners:-

It provided students with an opportunity to present reforms that they would like to see.

D.P.S. Ranchi celebrated 'GIGGLES' - Annual Day for Classes Prep, I & II

They say happiness comes in small packages. Well, the little bundles of joy running helter. Skelter and colouring Delhi Public School, Ranchi with their imagination and creativity, certainly proved the adage to be true.

The Annual day of D.P.S. Ranchi aptly named ‘Giggles’ was a showcase of how talented these little students of grades Prep, I and II really are. The event brought to life the colours of childhood with programmes ranging from dance, song and drama with the participation of more than 860 students.


The programme commenced with the lighting of lamp by the Honorable Chief Guest Shri Basant Kumar Goswami ( Chairman Commercial Tax Tribunal, Jharkhand) Guest of Honour Shri Atul Saxena ( GM, Product, RDCIS, SAIL) and Shri K. J. Chauhan ( DGM, F&A I/c, RDCIS, SAIL) escorted by the Principal Dr. Ram Singh.

After entailing the bouquet presentation, the Principal welcomed the esteemed guest and the august gathering to the event. He emphasized that quality education should be imparted with the personality development and a great scruples and values so that the students can effectively serve their society and country.

The students of Class – I  started the journey of celebration and took the audience to the world of clowns, colourful dresses, roar of lions, dances of animals and swinging acts of little gymnasts. The audience enjoyed the ‘CIRCUS’ immensely.


The journey progressed to the ‘Toon world’ – a world of cartoon characters. The tiny tods of Class – Prep showcase their dance performances and educated the parents with the moral values they learn from Chhota Bheem, Mougli, Doremon and Barbie.


The second graders concluded the journey and bedazzled the audience by the scintillating dance drama ‘Snow White and the seven Dwarfs’.

The school felicitated its 127 students of class Prep – V with scholar ties, Blue Blazers and Scholar Badges for their academic excellence. Details are –

The Chief Guest congratulated the students and said that awards act as catalysts in order to excel in academics as well as in life. He highly lauded the School for grooming the students to have global eminence and expressed his great elation for having visited the school.


The programme culminated with the vote of thanks by the students of Class – II and then the National Anthem.

Scholars of DPS Ranchi awarded with Blazers, badges & Tie

16th December 2016 commemorated the day when all those students of Delhi Public School Ranchi from Classes VI to VII and Class XI were felicitated who had performed excellently in the field of academics, sports and other co-curricular activities.

The programme started with a welcome song and then Dr. Ram Singh, Principal Delhi Public School Ranchi, welcomed the Chief Guest, Shri B.N.Thakur, ED, RDCIS,SAIL, and Guest of Honour Shri J.C. Mohapatra, GM, RDCIS, SAIL with a bouquet and a memento.

In his welcome address the principal motivated the students by saying that “Awards act as catalysts in order to excel in academics as well as in life.” He said, ”Here in DPS Ranchi we try to give the students the best facilities and guidance so that we can gift our country precious gems who in the long run will make the nation proud.” He congratulated the scholar blazer, badge and tie holders for their extraordinary performances in academics, sports, music, art, etc. He also mentioned about other remarkable achievements of DPS Ranchi in various fields.He appreciated the efforts of the parents who are guiding their children in the right path so that they can do wonders in their life.

After this the students presented a colourful, thematic dance about the need to abolish social evils like Sati, and then the scholars were awarded the blazers, badges and tie by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. 

• Students who excelled in sports, music and art were awarded with RED Blazers. Almost 25 students received Red Balazers.

• Students excelling in studies and getting A1 grades in all subjects for three consecutive years were awarded with BLUE Blazers. Almost 15 students received Blue Blazers.

• Students who scored A1 grade in all subjects for five consecutive years were given BLUE TIES. Almost 50 students got Blue Ties.

• Students excelling in studies and getting A1 grades in all subjects throughout the year were given Scholar Badges. More than 100 students received Scholar Badges.


On this occasion the Chief Guest, Shri B.N.Thakur congratulated the students for their extraordinary performance and wished them the very best for their future.. He said that these children are the future of our nation and with their merit and grit they will surely do wonders for their country.

It was indeed a glorious moment for the students and their parents who received the blazers, ties, and badges. They were of the opinion that in times to come, they will surely bring more laurels for the school

Book Fair At DPS, Ranchi Attracts A Buzz Of Parents

A week long book fair inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Ram Singh is being organized in DPS Ranchi which is a centre of attraction for all the book lovers in the arena.


The parents along with students are showed enormous enthusiasm today on 03.12.2016, the open day for classes Prep to VIII, towards the wide range of books presented for display and sale the book fair is enchanting for most of the parents as it is fulfilled with books related to varied areas and cater to different interest of the students; especially the books related to Science fiction and Cosmology holds maximum attention.


Parent of Abhinav kumar of Std IV exclaimed to acquire a fulfilling experience as he could site his ward’s favourite series of books by Geronimo Stilton comprising mysterious stories which he was unable to find in many shops outside and even online.


All the parents unanimously were of the opinion that the initiatives taken by the school to hone the students’ skill is worth appreciating.

The book fair is overall successful in inculcating reading habit among the students and a realization that books are indeed our best friend.

Dr. Ram Singh, Principal DPS Ranchi, said that this Book Fair was organized keeping in view the holistic development of the students. He said that developing reading habits among students is of utmost importance these days as reading develops child’s creative thinking and helps them to think out of the bax also arouses interest in the readers alongwith increasing their knowledge.

Intra Mural Final Cricket Match at DPS Ranchi

Today Final Match of  Intra Mural Cricket tournament held at DPS Ranchi. The event was declared open by Dr. Ram Singh , Principal DPS Ranchi  by tossing the coin.


Boys of the same age group exhibited their sportsman skill in cricket. 


Dr. Ram Singh congratulated the children and spoke about the importance  of sports and agility of the body.
