Today on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti Delhi Public School Ranchi relived the dream of the father of the Nation of having a Clean India. An oath was taken on this day to put the best shoulder forward through Shramdaan and realize Bapu’s dream of a Swachh Bharat.

On this occasion the Principal Dr. Ram Singh along with his non-teaching staff garlanded the statue of the father of the nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ already established in the school premises and lit the lamp paying a tribute to the divine soul.

After this the Principal and the staff members cleaned the dirt and grime accumulated outside the school premises. Speaking on this occasion the principal Dr. Ram Singh said that it was Gandhiji’s dream that all sections of the society should maintain the cleanliness in the atmosphere. No one likes dirt around them thus they keep their houses clean and throw the remains outside making the streets dirty but the dream of Gandhiji would be fulfilled only when everyone contributes not only towards the cleanliness of their own houses but also of their s-urroundings. Garbage from the house should be dumped in proper bins so that we contribute towards meeting our environment pollution free and also contribute to recycling. By doing our bit we can realize Bapu’s dream and thus become inspiration for others. In school also children are taught not to throw litter here and there so as to keep the school clean.

Cleanliness is not the responsibility of any particular class of people or section but it is an effort to be jointly taken by everyone. If this initiative is taken by each and everyone then our honourable Prime Minister’s dream of having a clean India by 2019 will not be a difficult objective to achieve.

Lal Bahadur Shastri the former Prime Minister of India was also remembered for his contribution to uplift the masses and make India a progressing country.
