Intramural Cricket Tournament Declared open
Intramural Cricket Tournament-2017 was declared open at Delhi Public School, Ranchi on 31st October 2017. The Tournament was played between the students of classes VI-IX.
The tournament was declared open by the honourable Principal Dr. Ram Singh.
Dr. Ram Singh wished the students luck and said that sports activities are the best way to make the students a part of sports activities. This helps them keep their mind and body healthy.
Today’s match was played between Jamuna House vs Ganges House in which Jamuna House won by 5 wickets.
National Unity Day celebrated
On the Behalf of Jharkhand Government and SAIL Delhi Public School, Ranchi organized a quiz and essay competition for the students from VI-VIII on 31st October 2017, on the occasion of National Unity Day. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. S.K. Das RDCIS and Vice Chairman DPS Ranchi.
The topic for the essay competition was ‘Contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Inddependence’ and quiz competition was conducted on ‘The life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ and ‘Goa, its culture, tourism, games and agriculture’.
Duhita won the first, Aranya Chaturvedi the second and Kirti Krishna the third position in the essay competition and in the quiz competition Aakash Kumar and Shakeb Arsalan won the first, Abhu Nirek and Dhruv Singh the Second and Shiv Ratn and Anish Suneja the third position.
The prize winners were felicitated by Mr. S.K. Das RDCIS.
Dr. Ram Singh the principal of the school congratulated the students and appreciated them for their performances and said that on this day of National Unity Day we give pay homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his extraordinary contribution towards the nation with this small competition.
On this occasion Mr. B.N.Thakur R&D SAIL said that, the celebration of National Unity Day helps each and every individual of the nation to be aware about the opportunity to maintain the integral strength of the nation. He also said that it gives us the message to be united and defeat the threats for unity, integrity and security for the nation.
Dipsites also participated in marathon “Run for Unity” organised by Jharkhand govt.
Dipsites On An Educational Trip To NASA
The students of Delhi Public School, Ranchi visited the ‘National Aeronautics and Space Administration’ (NASA) centre in Orlando, USA. The 12 days educational trip from 22th October 2nd November 2017 consisted of 8 students from classes VI-XI. The name of the students are – Jaspreet Kushwaha, Ayush Pandey, Sneha Pandey, Arpit Kumar, Arya Ghosh, Abhay, Manas Singh Rajput and Adarsh Mittal.
Escorted by a teacher dipsites had a wonderful time in the educational trip experiencing the world’s leading aeronautics centre and its different stages space exploration. It was an exhilarating experience for them as they stepped inside the premises of NASA.
Apart from their visit to NASA the students other tourist spots namely Disney Land, Universal Studio, Niagra falls etc.
Dr. Ram Singh, the Principal of the school always emphasizes on the importance of global exposure as it helps them wider their outlook and are well prepared for the real deal.
At the end of the trip the students shared their experience. Jas Preet Kushwaha and Sneha Pandey said that it was an exhilarating experience of having interaction with the astronauts in NASA.
On the other hand Abhay, Manas Singh Rajput and Ayush Pandey said that undoubtedly the experience of having interaction and lunch with the astronauts was an amazing experience.
Apart from NASA they were mesmerized by Disney Land’s Adventure land and the Hulk Ride and the Skull Island: Region of Kong in Universal studios.
On the whole the trip was an excellent learning experience for the children. The parents expressed their heartfelt thanks to the head of the institution because it was his brain to send the children as it would help
Dipsites Educational Trip to Hyderabad
‘I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand’
To spark excitement and grab attention Delhi Public School, Ranchi encouraged students to partake in an enjoyable learning experience to the city of cultural and historical tradition – HYDERABAD.
The students visited the marvelous never ending fairyland of Ramoji Film City, Lumbini Park, Salarjung Museum, Snow Wolrd, Birla Temple, Spectacular Golkunda Fort and Charminar allowing the history lesson come alive.
Principal Dr. Ram Singh said that such trips provide the students with opportunities to visualize and trigger ideas and solutions that may not stem from their familiar comforts and classroom. It also makes them a team worker.
A workshop on Good Touch and Bad Touch
With the objective of spreading awareness and educating children about child sexual abuse, Delhi Public School has launched a ‘good touch, bad touch’ campaign in the school.
Through this campaign, children were explained different criteria and parameters about how to distinguish between loving touch and abusive touch.
Children were educated through role plays enacted by teachers how to differentiate between a good touch and bad touch.
What is noteworthy is that in 95 per cent of cases, the perpetrator is known to the child so, the children where explained that if ever they come across such incidence, they should never hesitate to tell their teachers or parents.
It is high time that such initiatives are taken to increase awareness and stop the sexual exploitation of children in our country.
On this occasion Principal Dr. Ram Singh said that in general our society doesn’t want to discuss on abusive touch with children but for the safe present and future of our children this type of awareness programme is helpful.
Painting Competition on Paryatan Parv
To celebrate the spirit of tourism Paryatan Parv and with the aim to motivate people to support and contribute towards Incredible India, Delhi Public School, Ranchi on the behalf of Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation organized a painting competition for the students of class IV&V.
The themes of the competition were ‘The Role of Tourism in the Mutual Understanding and Harmony’ and ‘Environmental Sustainable Tourism’. The main motive of the competition was to promote tourism among the students.
Apart from painting competition various other competitions such as easy writing, slogan writing, debate and quiz was also conducted on this day.
Dr. Ram Singh the Principal of the school said that it was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their knowledge and understanding Jharkhand and its culture.
Prof. Dr. P.K. Barhai at DPS Ranchi (English)
A session for the students of class IX was organized in Delhi Pubic School, Ranchi on 24th October 2017. The spokesperson of the session was Prof. Dr. P.K. Barhai the former Vice Chancellor of BIT Messra.
Prof. Dr. P.K. Barhai the former Vice Chancellor of BIT Messra started as a Junior Researcher Fellow with the Dibrugarh University. He has also worked as the Dean of Research and Sponsored Analyst.
Dr. Barhai interacted with the students and told them how to approach a topic in science. He enlightened the students about the basic elements of science such as light, list count and magnetic field.
He shared that the thought and the life choices of an individual changes with the passage of time. He encouraged the students to consult their parents before choosing a career instead of accepting their friend’s choice. He also said that it is important to know the depth and weight. This will help you understand that the field you are going to choose is meant for you or not.
Dr. Barhai also encouraged the students to face challenges and try to gain opportunities which will give them the courage to face the ups and downs of their life.
Dr. Ram Singh the Principal of the school thanked Dr. Barhai for sharing his knowledge with the students and said that the session will help the students choose a right career for themselves.
At the end of the session the students said that the session has solved several of their career related queries. He also paved the way to choose the correct career.
Dipsites Pledged to Celebrate Eco-Friendly Diwali
Students of Delhi Public School, Ranchi took a pledge to say a big ‘No’ to ‘Crackers’ this Diwali and to illumine the life of others with generosity and kindness. Students from Baal Sikhsha Kendra were invited to celebrate Diwali with the students of the Primary wing. They exchanged attractive cards and diays with the message of ‘No Cracker’ let’s celebrate a pollution free Diwali.
In this context a procession was taken out on 17th October 2017, tuesday by the students and teachers to spread the awareness of harmful effects of pollution produced by the crackers in the festivals of light.
Principal Dr. Ram Singh also joined his hand in this divine act and asked the students to convince one more child to make a vow not to burst a single cracker. He also mentioned that May this festival of light fill your life with the glow of happiness and sparkle of joy.
Students took pledge to follow the words of Principal Dr. Ram Singh and to celebrate delightful and eco- friendly diwali.
Dr. M.K Mishra, V.C. BIT Messra Interacts with Dipsites
Delhi Public School, Ranchi organised an interactive session for the students of class XI on 17th October 2017, Tuesday. The resource person of the day was Prof. Dr. M.K. Mishra, Vice Chancellor, B.I.T. Messra.
Prof. Dr. M.K. Mishra is the Vice Chancellor of BIT Messra, who is been awarded for several academic achievements such as US-India Professorship of American Physical Society and University Of Florida, Lowdin Lecture- Quantum Theory project, University of USA. He was also the Associate Editor for the International Journal of Quantum Chemistry and the list goes on.
While interacting with the students he enlightened the student’s about the top universities of the world. He also discussed about the rating of the Indian universities. He shared his life’s experiences with the students both in India as well as abroad. Sharing his experiences he told the students about the ‘Ekal Vidhyalay’ which consisted of all classes of primary section in one room with just one teacher.
He encouraged the students to study in Indian institutions and colleges. He also informed them about the history of India, which says that the county had the best of the universities of the world. He enlightened them about the knowledge of the intellectual capacity of the Indians.
Dr. Ram Singh the Principal of the school expressed his gratitude for sharing his journey and knowledge with the students. He also said that these information’s will help the students choose the right institutions in future
At the end of the session the students said that they were ready with the right hind of arms and ammunitions to wage the battle of life. We are the catalysts and promoters of the reaction called development and this session was highly beneficial for us to go ahead in life.
Intramural Football Tournament (Junior)
Playground of Delhi Public School, Ranchi created the impression of Barcelona Stadium at the intramural football finals (junior) which was played on 17th October 2017 between students of Class V-B and V-F.
Team of V-B was led by Master Kumar Sanyam whereas; Master Yash Raj led V-F.
Enthusiastic players, spontaneous commentators and ardent supporters of both teams created a perfect set-up for a spectacular match.
In the cut throat competition class V- F registered his victory by 4/0 goals.
Yash Ansh Karo of class V-F bagged the title of ‘Man of the Match’.
Principal Dr. Ram Singh congratulated the teams for their sportsmanship spirit. He said that games not just make children physically and mentally strong but also provides hands on experiences of life skills.
